I was also mugged in London. Once on Charing Cross Road, two minutes from my office of the time. First he tried to get me to duck down some alley with him on the pretence of selling me drugs, when that didn't work, he told me he was a gangster and showed me the bullet scar on his ankle and threatened to 'box me up'. I gave him the tenner I had in my pocket and he then bizarrely hugged me and told me I was a good man, so not quite as amusing a tale as yours Paul, but just as weird! Glad you can laugh about it now anyway!
